Brown & white diamond halo cluster ring

This halo engagement ring features a round cut fancy brown diamond with a ring of colourless diamonds surrounding it, set atop a polished 18ct gold straight band.

Fancy brown diamonds have been used in ancient times, the Middle Ages, and in the 18th/19th century when the Brazil deposit opened. However, they didn’t gain popularity in the modern day until they were marketed with warm names like “champagne diamonds” or “cognac diamonds”.

The largest cut diamond in the world is a brownish-yellow diamond called the Golden Jubilee. The custom cut diamond was cut by world-renowned Gabriel Tolkowsky.

The 545.67ct brown diamond took two years of planning and was a gift to King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand during his 50th anniversary of being king. Today, the Golden Jubilee is part of Thailand’s royal crown jewels.

Fancy coloured diamonds come in many colours, with some colours and hues more valuable and expensive than others. Brown diamonds are thought of as one of the more affordable natural fancy colours alongside fancy yellow diamonds.

But like yellow diamonds, brown diamonds are commonly confused with colourless diamonds with brown tint. Fancy colour diamonds are more valuable than colourless diamonds of similar quality and size. Brown tinted colourless diamonds are indicative of a low quality diamond.

That is one of the many reasons why diamonds, especially fancy coloured diamonds, need to have a grading report from a reliable gemological laboratory. All of the diamonds at RING Jewellers weighing 0.20cts or more are certified by a reliable gemological laboratory.

We offer a range of different coloured diamonds from natural or lab created origins. Natural fancy coloured diamonds are more rare and expensive, while lab grown ones are less rare and less expensive. Both have the same composition, brilliance, and quality grades.

Alternatively, we also carry natural and lab created colourless diamonds, as well as coloured gemstones. You have many options when creating a bespoke engagement ring. We offer ring metals in platinum, 9ct gold, 18ct gold, and palladium.

Whether you’re looking for a unique ring like this brown diamond engagement ring or are looking for a classic colourless diamond ring, we can make it for you. Contact us today to create yours.
